Enhancement of Compliance and Monitoring

Compliance and monitoring have been integral to the performance of community service. The key activities undertaken during the period under review include, support to DSCs, routine monitoring re-arrests and networking.

District Community Service Committees have the mandate to popularize, monitor and supervise community service implementation at the District level. The department supported all districts with functional courts. It has been observed that DCSCs only meet when funds are available, members of the public and civil society organizations are not represented on most committees and quarterly reports are not submitted. The aforementioned have negatively affected CS implementation.
