Capacity Building is a core component of the Department of Community Service, designed to strengthen staff and stakeholders’ knowledge, skills, and attitudes for effective implementation of the Community Service Programme.

The Department prioritizes staff training to enhance professionalism and supports stakeholders in better managing community service. Public sensitization is conducted through radio, television, talk shows, and community meetings to raise awareness and foster acceptance of community service as an alternative to imprisonment.

It also offers line support to stakeholders and disseminates information, education, and communication materials to the public to promote understanding, ownership, and positive attitudes towards the programme.
